Does your team have what it takes to WIN the Dining Out For Life CORPORATE CHALLENGE?
HIV/AIDs network invites B.C. businesses to support Dining Out For Life, Thursday, March 25
March 5, 2010
Ham it up and say cheese. A Loving Spoonful and Friends For Life are
challenging B.C. businesses to participate in Dining Out For Life and its new
photo contest on Thursday, March 25.
They're asking local businesses to demonstrate their support to people living
with HIV/AIDS by submitting a photo and caption of their dinner party
hamming it up at a Dining Out For Life restaurant.
"We are very grateful to our participating restaurants, sponsors and diners who
are helping us to reach our $200,000 target," says Lisa Martella, Executive
Director of A Loving Spoonful.
"We're asking local businesses to have some fun, get involved and support
the local restaurants that have rallied behind us for 15 years."
Sponsored by Business in Vancouver, the corporate challenge is a great way
for businesses to let their staff, colleagues and clients know that supporting
people with HIV/AIDS in their communities is important.
"This contest adds a little more fun and flair to an event that celebrates life
and supports people with HIV/AIDS," says Sheena Sargeant, Executive Director
of Friends For Life.
"It taps into the generous, fun-loving and competitive spirit of B.C.'s business
community."
DINING OUT FOR LIFE is one of the most visible events in B.C.'s restaurant and
food services scene. An extensive marketing campaign every year
encourages diners to eat on March 25 at their favourite participating
restaurant for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
From Whistler to White Rock and across the Fraser Valley, a record number of
restaurants (over 230) are participating in Dining Out For Life this year. On March 25, 25%
of restaurant revenues will be donated to Friends For Life and A
Loving Spoonful.
The event has largely targeted B.C. diners but now is reaching out to B.C.'s
business community. The corporate challenge is the main driver that the
organizers hope will motivate a wider business audience to back the event.
"We have great sponsors for the event, including Sumac Ridge Estate Winery,
Stella Artois, Global BC and two dozen more," said Martella. "We want to
build on that momentum."
As part of the contest, businesses and organizations are asked to invite staff,
clients, customers, families and friends and eat out at one of 230 participating
restaurants on Thursday, March 25. You can view the restaurant list at
diningoutforlife.ca.
The photo & caption that best captures the spirit of the event wins a Dinner for
Eight (5 course meal) in a private dining room at O'Doul's Restaurant & Bar,
and will appear in Business in Vancouver.
"A special thanks to Business in Vancouver and O'Doul's Restaurant & Bar for
making this contest possible. There's only one winner for the grand prize but
we'll post all the photos to our DineOut4LifeVan Facebook page," said
Sargeant.
