ALDO Introduces the Latest 'ALDO Fights AIDS' Product

ALDO Continues the Fight Against AIDS with their 'Love for Life' Limited Edition Bracelets

MONTREAL, Sept. 4 /PRNewswire/ - ALDO, a global fashion footwear and accessories brand, in partnership with YouthAIDS, an HIV/AIDS education and prevention program of the global health organization PSI, will continue their fight against AIDS by offering "Love for Life" bracelets. These limited edition AFA products will be available September 2008 at all ALDO, ALDO Accessories and ALDO Outlet stores, as well as online at www.aldoshoes.com. ALDO will donate 100% of the net proceeds from the sale of the bracelets to YouthAIDS.

"We regard ourselves as part of a larger global community and believe that it is everyone's ethical responsibility to get involved and make a difference," says Aldo Bensadoun, Founder and CEO of ALDO. "Since the mid-80s, ALDO has been committed to the fight against AIDS -- an initiative that reflects the principals our company was founded on -- love, integrity and respect."

ALDO has generated millions of dollars with their public awareness campaigns and helped educate and protect young lives from infection in more than 60 countries; the influence of the ALDO Fights AIDS campaign has been immense. Since it launched in fall 2005, ALDO has raised over $3.2 million dollars for YouthAIDS, impacting the lives of millions of young people around the world. ALDO hopes to build on this success by continuing to raise awareness about HIV/AIDS as well as funds for the fight against this pandemic by introducing their latest AFA products.

The artwork for the AFA bracelets was created by children of the Rebero Orphan Center of Rwanda, who were asked to draw what their idea of "Love for Life" meant to them. ALDO is proud to have supported YouthAIDS' HIV prevention efforts in Rwanda including the work of the Rebero Orphan Center. The center brings together and cares for victims and orphans of the Rwandan Genocide, all of whom have lost either one or both of their parents in the genocide or to HIV/AIDS. Even amidst a climate of hardship, the resulting images were filled with messages of peace, hope and happiness. The beauty of their renderings have been captured and transcribed onto these limited-edition "Love for Life" bracelets which will be available in two women's styles -- a gold tone and a silver tone, as well as a men's rubber version. All bracelets will retail for $5.00 each with 100% of the net proceeds benefiting YouthAIDS.

"YouthAIDS is proud to once again partner with ALDO. Their vision and innovation are a constant inspiration," says Kate Roberts, Founder and Director of YouthAIDS. "Buying the 'Love for Life' bracelets is a simple and easy way to affect the lives of millions of young people around the world."

15 million children around the world have been orphaned by HIV/AIDS, losing one or both parents to the disease. One child dies every minute. Youth are most at risk for contracting HIV. Every 15 seconds, a young person between the ages of 15-24 becomes infected with HIV/AIDS; fifty percent of all new infections occur among this age group, and most do not know they carry this deadly virus. ALDO and YouthAIDS are determined to reverse this trend.
