Dr. Brian Conway is a physician specializing in infectious disease. After training at McGill University of Manitoba and Harvard University, he worked at the University of Ottawa (1990-94) until moving to Vancouver in 1994.
Dr. Brian Conway is the president and medical director of the Vancouver Infectious Disease Centre, a non-profit medical research and care society dedicated to the development and evaluation of novel systems of treatment for HIV and HCV infections in vulnerable populations. He leads over 50 clinical trials for the evaluation of novel treatment modalities for HIV ad HCV.
Dr. Brian Conway has published over 150 articles on these topics in peer-reviewed medical journals.
He is past president of the Canadian Association for HIV Research (2007-09). He is current president of RésoSanté Colombie-Britannique, dedicated to the development of health care resources for the francophone population of the province.
In 2012, Dr. Brian Conway received the Queen Elizabeth 11 Diamond Jubilee Medal for long-standing and exemplary service to Canada in the field of HIV/AIDS.
About Red Ribbons 4 Life
Red Ribbons 4 Life was founded in 2008 by Martin Rooney as part of the campaign to remove the US HIV Travel Ban. Proceeds have surpassed $65,000 since its inception and Red Ribbons 4 Life has now become the largest singular, one-night benefit for AIDS in the lower mainland outside of the city of Vancouver.
