HIVANONYMOUS

CONTRIBUTE. LISTEN. SHARE.

When sharing our stories we might choose to remain anonymous for a few specific reasons: fear, shame, or because there are serious consequences if our identities are made public.

Those who are HIV positive sometimes prefer to be anonymous for all the same reasons.

Like any illness, HIV/AIDS is the last thing anyone should have to face alone.

September 5, 2015 - HIVANONYMOUS was created to give a voice to people who are living with HIV anonymously. Through these experiences, we can all learn more about the discrimination faced by the HIV/AIDS community, and help start a conversation – even a movement – to show we can change how all of us see, talk about, and treat people living with HIV/AIDS.

Share your You Story:
Here at HIVANONYMOUS, the goal is to encourage individuals living with
HIV/ AIDS to share experiences with the world in a way that they feel comfortable and safe. We have created many different levels of privacy to make sharing those stories easier, while also remaining anonymous.

We invite you to talk about, in your own words, how stigma and discrimination have affected your life. Your stories will help educate others about the realities of living with HIV/ AIDS, and open a discussion about the effects of discrimination and the need for more support of the HIV/AIDS community in Canada.

Hear The Stories:
For many, living with HIV means hiding from discrimination. Hear the experiences of those living with HIV in their own words, then show your support to let people living with HIV/AIDS know that being anonymous doesn’t have to mean being alone.

Use The Icon:
Show your support for those living with HIV by going anonymous on social media. Download the HIVANONYMOUS icon to use as your profile picture. Here’s a suggested post to let friends know why you’ve changed your photo: For many, living with HIV means hiding from discrimination. I’m going anonymous on social media to let everyone know that being anonymous doesn’t have to mean being alone. Learn more at HIVANONYMOUS.ca

Show your support: Walk, Donate to Scotiabank AIDS Walk for Life.
