A new video released every day leading up to July 30th.

July 1, 2013 - VANCOUVER - To mark its 30th anniversary, AIDS Vancouver today premières the first video of The 30 30 Campaign, chronicling through video interviews the stories of both AIDS Vancouver and Vancouver's HIV epidemic, over the past 30 years. The videos, the first of their kind in Canada, feature 38 community leaders, nurses, doctors, politicians and people living with HIV, sharing their experiences and memories.
At 3030.AIDSVancouver.org a new video will be released each day for 30
days until July 30 th.
The 30 30 Campaign will be hosted on a permanent website that has one of the most comprehensive HIV timelines ever created,
highlighting global and national events and spotlighting the local events that shaped the epidemic. A public resource of this type has
never been available locally and will serve as a teaching tool and a means of honouring all of those before us and all of us now,
for years to come.
"Vancouver has long been at the forefront of the fight against HIV/AIDS," said Dr. Brian Chittock, Executive
Director of AIDS Vancouver. "In fact, AIDS Vancouver was the first AIDS service organization in Canada, established in 1983.
As we reflect back on the past 30 years, it is important to celebrate the stories of those who have contributed, remember those
we have lost, and inspire the next generation to continue the work of prevention, action, and support. We're so proud of these
videos, which will become a permanent online resource for all to remember and celebrate."
Each day, starting July 1st, a new video and webpage will go live, starting with 1983. Please join us on this journey
throughout this month to hear the stories, remember the moments, reflect on our losses and celebrate all of our successes. On July
30th, join us at the Commodore Ballroom for the final video and a celebration to remember.
